About GFRID Summit

The GFRID Summit gathers key representatives from the regional and global remittance ecosystems, being from governments, central banks, the private sector and the civil society. It is a unique platform where innovative solutions, business models, experiences and expertise are shared openly, with the aim to identify opportunities and address challenges to leverage the impact of remittances and migrants’ investment for sustainable development and rural transformation.

Every two years, the GFRID Summit is organized in a different region, and has specific focus, being on topics, i.e. Recovery and resilience through digital and financial inclusion, or areas, i.e. Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, or Latin America.

This year, the GFRID Summit 2023 successfully took place at the UN Office at Nairobi (Kenya) on 14-16 June. Over 600 global and African delegates attended the three-day event, discussing opportunities and challenges in the post-pandemic landscape, with a major focus on main remittance corridors and diaspora investment innovations in Africa.
